Pilgrim Faith is committed to the Christian education of all children in an atmosphere that welcomes and values each and every one of them. We offer a variety of ways for children to learn about the mighty love of God! New children are welcome to join anytime, even if they have no prior Christian education.
Pilgrim Faith has a vibrant and always-growing Sunday School program for children in preschool through eighth grade. Classes are held all but the first Sunday of the month (which is communion Sunday), from September through April. Students are dismissed after the children’s message of the service, and remain in Sunday School until the service ends. The curriculum combines Bible verses, age-appropriate activities and discussion to teach children about the Word of God and about the many great things Jesus has done for us. Please be assured that Pilgrim Faith adheres to the Safe Church Policy, which provides a supervised environment that places the safety and dignity of our children above all else.
If you have any questions or would like to enroll your child in our Sunday School, please contact the church office.
RALLY DAY (Sunday School begins) is the second Sunday of September.
Vacation Bible School
Pilgrim Faith offers a fun and relaxing Vacation Bible School for one week each summer. Children ages 3 through just-completed fifth grade from around the area return year after year for a week of games, songs, crafts and stories all built on a Christ-centered theme. Make plans to join us from 9:00 – 11:30 am on June 12-16, 2017 for Vacation Bible School!
Summer Church Camp
Many of the children and youth of Pilgrim Faith attend summer church camp at either Tower Hill Camp in Sawyer, Michigan or Pilgrim Park Camp near Princeton, Illinois. This is a great opportunity to connect with God and others in the beauty of nature. Parents and children work hard all year on fund raisers to help with the cost of camp. Information about all the camps available is at Outdoor Ministries.
Communion & Confirmation
Communion: Students in third grade are invited to take part in communion Sunday once they have completed preparation classes. Classes are usually held in February or March. Please contact Pastor Peggy for more details.
Confirmation: Students in ninth grade and older are invited to prepare to become full members of the church through confirmation. This process has several steps that must be completed before confirmation, so please contact Pastor Peggy as your child approaches ninth grade for details about the schedule.
Short term Bible Studies (four to six weeks) are offered several times a year. Enrollment is open to all interested adults or older youth. Recent study topics included “God Got Me This Far: Now What?,” “Real People Who Sometimes Trust God,” “Finding God’s Truth in Unbelievable Parts of the Bible,” “Forgiveness” and “Finding Hope.”
