Welcome back from a wonderful summer break! We start September out with a busy start and a change in meeting
place. We will have our meetings in Colonial Hall’s overflow room on Sunday’s from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm (unless
September 10th – 1. Two activities scheduled are 1: putting together a time capsule – bring an item to put into the time capsule (something from summer, a picture, a reminder of our GLUED group – whatever you want to bring). 2: a scavenger type game. After activities, if time allows, we will go outside to play a game (weather permitting).
September 23rd – We are teaming together with our SPLAT group (senior high is welcome too!) on Saturday
the 23rd from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in Colonial Hall for a pizza/dance party!
Hope to see you there! Bring a friend. GLUED will be the foundation of growing relationships – you can “stick” together!
S.P.L.A.T. – Spreading Peace, Love And Truth – is for students in grades six through eight.
Please welcome Bob Cook and Chris Cook as the new leaders of our junior high youth group, SPLAT. The Cooks
— who aren’t related! — each have kids in the group, and have had kids go through it, and they recognize its importance in building our kids’ spiritual, social and personal connections as they start their approach to confirmation during their freshmen year of high school.
They will be reaching out to junior high parents with further communications, including a meeting schedule, and
they also will talk to the junior high kids for their ideas on what they would like to do in the group. The first meeting will be Sept. 23 from 5-7 p.m. at Colonial Hall, a joint
event with our GLUED elementary school youth group. We hope to see you there!
Our senior highs meet a couple times a month for fellowship, discussion, activities and service to others.
ATTENTION ALL SR. HIGHS!
I hope you have all enjoyed your summer and are getting back into the routine of school, but it is time to get back to
growing in the love of God. We will have our first “official” kick-off meeting of the year on Sunday, September
17th, after church from 11:30-1:30. We will be discussing ideas for this upcoming year, put together a calendar,
and continue to build our faith while having some fun too! There will also be some snacks! Feel free to bring a friend.
All are welcome! Keep Believing! ~Keith
[EXPAND Bell Choir]Young people age 6th grade through 12th grade are welcome to play in the hand bell choir. This group learns how to play a four octave set of Schulmerich hand bells, as well as reading music, counting music, following a director, and being a team player. They are scheduled to play at least once a month and have enhanced the service with music at every point, be it a Hymn, Offertory, Prelude or Communion music. Rehearsals are Sunday mornings following the service for one hour, September through April. Please contact the church office if interested.
