We gather every Sunday morning at 10:00 AM

At Pilgrim Faith, we seek our worship to be meaningful, uplifting, affirming of God’s love and power in Christ, and experience the rich liturgical history of the church. We are an Open and Affirming congregation. ALL are welcome (we really mean it!) so come as you are to worship the still-speaking God.

Our worship services are all about community, love, and praise. We praise God through communal prayer, music, confession, preaching, sharing, and Holy Communion. Our worship aims to be transformative in many ways, offering us opportunities to seek comfort and hope, to find our stories in the stories of our faith, and to experience the presence of God.

Worship is rooted in the biblical witness to God’s saving deeds in history.

We observe two sacraments: Holy Communion and Baptism. Communion is observed on the first Sunday of the month. We celebrate the various “seasons” of the church: Advent, Epiphany, Lent, Easter, Pentecost. Our liturgy conforms to the order of worship in the Book of Worship of the United Church of Christ, and we use the lectionary as our selected scripture readings each Sunday.

Our church address is 9411 S. 51st Avenue in Oak Lawn, IL. We are on the north side of 95th street, across from the Oak Lawn METRA station. Click here for a map and directions. There is plenty of free parking in our lot and also in the commuter lot on Sunday mornings.

The music on Sunday mornings can vary from piano and organ music to guitar and saxophone music. We use the United Church of Christ “New Century” hymnal. Child care for infants and toddlers will resume later in the year, as for now, ALL are welcome in worship!

What to Expect in Worship

  • Where: We worship at our church home on South 51st Avenue in Oak Lawn, on the Northside of West 95th Street, across the street from the Oak Lawn METRA station. Click here for a map and driving directions.

  • Parking: Free parking is available in our side parking lot, with additional parking available in the commuter rail parking lot on Sunday mornings.

  • Music: Depending on Sunday, our music may feature organ, piano, guitar, and other instruments. We use the United Church of Christ “New Century” hymnal, supplemented by both traditional hymns and contemporary worship songs from other Christian denominations.

  • Childcare: Currently, we are not providing childcare for infants and toddlers. However, we know that being quiet and still during worship can be difficult for our young children. It is our privilege and joy to provide a safe place for children to read or play in our Narthex beneath the balcony staircase. Please know that you and your child are welcome to use this space as needed.

  • Communion: Our communion is open to ALL. Everyone. No exceptions.

  • Baptism: Christian baptism is available to children and adults who wish to be baptized.
